How this page works

Most outage sites rely on user reports alone. Chessigma imports and analyzes real Chess.com games all day, so we see failures the moment they start: our servers ping Chess.com every 5 minutes, and every failed game import from a real user counts as a signal. The graph combines those automatic signals with reports from visitors, plotted against the typical baseline for this time of day.

While Chess.com is down

Your games are not gone. If you have analyzed games on Chessigma before, your full game review history is available here, including engine analysis that runs in your browser. You can also solve puzzles or train your openings until Chess.com is back.

Frequently asked questions

How do you know if Chess.com is down?

Chessigma runs an automated check against the Chess.com API and website every 5 minutes. On top of that, thousands of real game imports run through Chessigma every day, and failed imports are counted as outage signals. Visitor reports on this page are the third signal. When our checks fail repeatedly, we call it an outage.

Chess.com is down. What can I do?

Usually nothing but wait: most Chess.com outages are fixed within minutes to a few hours. Your rating, games and account are safe. In the meantime you can review games you already imported, solve puzzles, or train openings on Chessigma for free.

Is Chess.com down for everyone or just me?

Look at the graph on this page. A spike in reports and failed checks means a widespread problem. If the graph is quiet, the problem is likely on your side: check your internet connection, try a different browser or the app, and clear your cache.

I finished a game but it does not show on Chessigma. Why?

Chessigma reads your games from Chess.com, so a game appears here only once Chess.com releases it. Chess.com does not hand a finished game over the moment it ends. It usually takes a minute or two, and on a bad day it can take much longer. Until they release it, nobody can fetch that game, and that includes us: the game is safe, it is simply not available yet. Wait a few minutes and press Refresh again, and it will appear. If you want it right away, copy the PGN from Chess.com and paste it into Chessigma.

Why does Chess.com go down?

The common causes are traffic spikes during big events, server maintenance, DDoS attacks, and issues at upstream providers such as Cloudflare or AWS. Large chess sites are a frequent DDoS target, so short outages happen a few times a year.
