Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

Chessigma offers a free chess-analysis tool that generates reports and insights from Chess.com, Lichess, or PGN games. Browsing is possible without an account, but certain features require optional authentication via Google Sign-In or a one-time email link.

2. Accounts & Authentication

When you sign in:

• Google Sign-In: we receive your email, display name, and profile picture.
• Email-link login: we receive your email only.

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers.
• Attempt to access areas or data you are not authorised to access.
• Scrape or harvest data at a rate that burdens our infrastructure.
• Upload malware, engage in spam, or use the Service for illegal purposes.

4. User Content

By uploading PGN files or other chess data ("Content") you grant us a non-exclusive licence to process, display, and store that Content solely to provide the Service. You confirm that you have the necessary rights to upload the Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

5. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

6. Service Providers

We rely on reputable third-party providers—including Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database & auth), Google Cloud Platform (Google SSO), and an analytics tool—to operate the Service. Providers act under our instructions and may process data as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind—express or implied—including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use the analysis at your own risk; we do not guarantee it will improve your rating or play.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chessigma and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of—or inability to use—the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, Sections 4, 7, 8, and 11 survive.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any dispute will be heard in the competent courts of Amsterdam, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the website. Your continued use after an update means acceptance of the revised Terms.
