Watch the knight hop, then tap the same route back.
Knight Trail is a sequence memory test on a chessboard. A knight hops a route and you tap the same squares back, in the same order. Level N is N hops. A miss replays the route and costs a heart, and the third miss ends the run. The trail stays drawn while the knight hops and clears when your turn begins, and later levels quicken the pace and let the knight come back to a square it visited.
A typical first run ends around 9 hops. 11 hops puts you in the top quarter (Club) and 15 in the top 1% (GM). To remember a picture rather than an order, try the visual memory test.
It shows a series of steps and asks you to repeat them in order. Here each step is a knight move, so you remember a path, not just a set of squares.
About 9 hops on a first run. The top quarter of players reaches 11 and the top 1% reaches 15.
No. The knight's tour asks you to visit all 64 squares once. Knight Trail asks you to remember a short route and play it back, one hop longer each level.
